After spending the morning at Jayden's soccer game, we
headed west to Jackson for Samantha's soccer game in the afternoon. After making
the long drive, it would have been nice to come away with a victory, but the
girls really didn't seem to be too into this particular contest. Their usual
coach wasn't here today, and the Rush scored a girl early on what appeared to be
a blatant offside that wasn't called (to make matters worse, the associate
referee on that sideline was a player from another Rush team - she wasn't going
to make any calls like that). The coach yelled and the referee long enough to
earn a yellow card. That gave the girls a brief moment of inspiration, as they
managed to score to tie the game up. That was about it for them, though, as the
Rush team scored once again, leaving the score 2-1 at halftime. The Impact girls
never really put up a serious threat in the second half, and the only goal was
scored by the Rush. The game ended with the score 3-1, with the Impact on the
short end for the third time this season.
