Game 1

Home Up

May 23rd, 2015

The Michigan Impact girls came in to this tournament with high expectations - they had every intention of winning the entire thing. Today's game wasn't their best example of there play, however, as they took on the OP (Ohio Premiere) Green team. This team should have been up in the top tier of U14 teams, but they already had another team in that group so they put this one down a level so that they did not face each other during the tournament. The Impact team played them tough through the first half of action (in fact, I thought they controlled the ball for the majority of the half), but went into halftime down a goal. The second half is where things got away from the Impact team, as the OP team pulled away with three quick goals before putting it on cruise control. The final score was 4-0, and the Impact team was disappointed in their all-around play today.
