Game 9

Home Up

January 16th, 2015

Tonight marked the end of the Winter I indoor soccer season for the Michigan Impact soccer team, and they came into this game with momentum on their side after winning the previous two games. The regular goalkeeper didn't make it to today's game, so Samantha was placed in goal in to start. She didn't face an abundance of shots, but the ones that she did she easily managed to make the saves. The only "heart-attack" moment she had came when an opposing player headed the ball towards the net, and thankfully it sailed just over the crossbar. Keeping up with their recent patterns, the Impact girls scored a goal late, giving them the only points that they would need to secure their third victory of the season!

Samantha started out in goal tonight.

Sam came out of goal to play the ball before an opposing player could get to it...

...and sent it flying down the field.

Sam lining up a drop kick...

...and kicking it as hard as she can...

...and following through...

...before watching it soar down the field.

Sam lining up another drop kick...

...and watching the follow through.

Sam knocking down a shot on goal...

...and settling the ball down to make a save.

Sam bending down to make a save...

...and scooping the ball up.

Samantha spent a lot of time watching the action take place down the field.

Sam lining up a goal kick...

...and taking the kick...

...before following through.
