Game #6

2:00pm
Clintonwood Park - Clarkston 1st Half 2nd Half Final
Michigan Impact 0 1 1
United FC MI UFC 00G Gr 0 1 1

For the first half of today's game between the Michigan Impact and United FC soccer teams it appeared that Samantha and her Impact teammates would be walking away with another victory. Unfortunately, despite getting the better looks on goal, they just couldn't squeeze the ball past the keeper when they needed to. Neither team was able to score in the half, as a matter of fact, leaving the second half to begin with a 0-0 score. Not long after the second half began the tie was broken, but it wasn't by the team we were hoping, as the United girls snuck one under the arms of the Impact's diving keeper. From then on out it was all United, as they held the ball and had the far better chances for the majority of the second half. The Impact coach moved a player from Defense to Forward late in the game, and that move paid dividends as she was able to muscle her way through two opposing players to tie the game with less than a minute left in the contest. Although this wasn't the outcome that the girls wanted, the late comeback was a relief after this game was looking like a sure loss for such a long time.
