Flint had a bit of an issue filling out their U10 team
this year, only able to secure three skaters and a goaltender. Hamilton still
wanted to play, and several ideas were thrown around to make it work. The final
decision was to take the ten youngest U12 players and let them play for the U10
team as well. Drew was one of those young U12 players, so he returned to the ice
after the completion of his first game to play once again. This game was
remarkably similar to the U12 game that just concluded. The Hamilton team led
3-0 after one in both games, and the second period of each was played evenly,
this time with each team scoring twice. The third period of each game was all
Hamilton, though this one was less dominate than the prior game, with Hamilton
outscoring the Flint team by two goals. The final score was a 7-2 win for the
Canadians. Drew spent the entirety of this game on defense, which is not his
most intuitive position, but where he will be spending a bunch of time with his
travel team this upcoming season, so in that regard this was a good experience
for him.
