I think that everyone involved would have preferred that today's
game would have been postponed (again, after having already been
rescheduled from the 1st and then relocated to Fenton's artificial
turf field due to the mud on Holly's home field) as the cold, windy
rain continued to pour down on the girls throughout the entire game.
For the entire first half it seemed as though neither team wanted to
be there as evidenced by the general lack of scoring chances for
either team. The second half wasn't any better for Holly, though
Flushing seemed more ready to play to play, generating a majority of
the scoring chances before finally converting, grabbing the 1-0
lead. Holly's best chance came with less than five minutes
remaining, hitting the post on a couple of good shots, but that was
it, as Flushing held on to seal the 1-0 win in the "home" game for
Holly. And to make matters worse, I somehow deleted all of the
photos that Tara, Drew, and Jay lovingly took for me without
realizing my mistake until it was too late, so no photos of this
game.. |
