Samantha's 00/01 team had a make-up game to play tonight, after
the previous date was rained out. The game wound up being moved from
their new home fields to their previous home fields, and in the
process there seemed to be a bit of a scheduling mix-up. A younger
girls team wound up playing on the larger field, while the older
girls had to move to the smaller field. This wasn't ideal, but it
was the hand that the girls were dealt, do they had to make the best
of it. The Liverpool girls dominated play for a majority of the
game, but they just weren't able to sneak one past the goalkeeper
from Midland. Even a Liverpool penalty kick sailed over the net
today. The first half would end in a 0-0 tie, but it was Midland who
would go on to break that tie. They managed to score on a kick over
the Liverpool keeper's head, giving them a 1-0 advantage. It began
to appear as though time would run out, but the Liverpool girls
fought back and kept attacking, finally scoring the goal that they
needed to draw even. Shortly thereafter, the final whistle would
blow, leaving the two teams to settle for a 1-1 draw. |
