Today's second game got off to a good start for Holly, scoring a
run in the first inning after being shut out in the first game.
Unfortunately their lead was short lived, as Goodrich answered back
with a run of their own. The Bronchos were able to limit the damage
to the single run in the first, but they weren't as luck in the
second. After failing to score a run, Goodrich took a big lead with
three runs of their own. The Thunder took a 4-1 lead into the top
of the third, but Holly wasn't done yet. The boys fought back and
scored three runs of their own. Unfortunately Drew struck out in his
only at bat of the game during this inning, though he did get on
base as a pinch runner. Holly's success at tying things up was
short-lived, as Goodrich answered with three of their own,
reclaiming their 3-run lead when the third inning was over.
The Bronchos boys weren't going to give up, though, and they were
able to narrow the gap with two runs in the fourth, making it a one
run game. Time was running out on the game, however, and the
Goodrich team had an answer for the Bronchos attack, scoring five
more runs before the game was called due to the 90 minute time
limit, handing Holly another loss, this time by a 12-6 score. |
