Game 7

Although I truly enjoy watching all of the kids play whatever sport it is that they choose to dedicate themselves too, this was one of the worst sporting experiences I have ever had to sit through... and not because of the outcome of the game, but due entirely to the weather! The entire game was played in a torrential downpour, and it was miserable for not only the players but the parents, coaches, and referees as well.

The action on the field didn't go in favor of the Liverpool girls, either. They fell behind early, trailed for the entire first half, and went into halftime down 2-0. A third Nationals goal widened the lead even further before the Liverpool girls were finally able to get on the board. That would be it for them, as the Nationals would add two more goals to put Liverpool in a deep hole. The rain wasn't letting up, so finally the Liverpool coach told the ref that he had enough and that he should call the game. So, that was how it all ended - soaking players and coaches just thankful to get off the field.
