This afternoon's game pitted Drew and his Jr. Everblades
teammates against the "other" Sharpshooters team, the Black squad.
This is the team that should be playing a level up, so nobody was
expecting the Everblades winning streak to reach two games with this
one. The beginning of the game got off to the start most expected,
as the Sharpshooters would score quickly, just 22 seconds in. They
would make it a 2-0 game not even 90 seconds later. Things slowed
down from there, as the next goal wouldn't come for another 7
minutes. Unfortunately it was another Sharpshooters goal, and their
lead was now 3-0. That would be the score when the period would come
to a close.
The Sharpshooters dominated the second period when looking at
shots on goal and overall puck possession, but they would only
manage to score two goals. Of course, that was enough to make it a
5-0 game, as they would cruise into the final intermission.
The Sharpshooters would only get one goal in the final period,
widening their lead to 6-0. At this point the Everblades seemed
mentally defeated, as they didn't put up much of a fight
offensively. They held their own on the defensive end, doing their
best to slow down the dominant Sharpshooters attack. Unfortunately
they weren't able to make a dent, and they would fall by that 6-0
margin. Drew did end up taking a spearing penalty late in this
game, resulting in a 2:00 penalty as well as a 10:00 game misconduct
penalty, meaning he will have to miss his teams next game (which
will come during the Florida International Holiday Invitational). |
