This afternoon Samantha and her FC Sarasota teammates faced off
against the Florida Rush squad that they met earlier in the season.
Sam started as center-mid, just as she typically does for the club
team. She came off after only playing around 7-10 minutes of the
game, which is very odd for her. It was then that I realized she was
headed to the medical tent. She had previously complained about her
toe, so I assumed it was her foot. In the meantime, our girls kept
defending the ball well against the Rush team, and scoring the games
only two goals in the first half. Just before the half ended, Sam
messaged me and told me her coach believed she may have a concussion
and should be evaluated. Sam sat the remainder of the game, as she
should, with her team finishing the game strong, moving them to 3-0
in the CDL Showcase Soccer Tournament. The first game between the
two clubs ended in a 0-1 score due to a PK kick for a slide tackle
in the box. |
