As the second game was about to get underway, one of the Jr.
Everblades parents mentioned the team we were about to face, the
Palm Beach Hawks, were technically a AA team, and they should have
been in the division above us.
Once the game started, that fact quickly became evident. Drew and
his Jr. Everblades teammates had a strong start to the game, but
their passing always seemed to come up a bit short. This could be
due to the lateness of the game, the fact that we were on the main
arena ice, or that this team was just one step quicker to the puck
compared to us. We ended the first period with a score of 0-2, but
the team was determined to make a strong showing.
The next two periods had the Hawks scoring a couple extra goals,
but overall the game was a lesson well received. Our players held
their heads high even though they walked away with another loss for
the day, this time by a 7-0 score. |
