| Since Drew had a hockey tournament in Orlando, and a day in
which his first and only game came at 7:00pm, we decided it would be
a good opportunity to sneak in some time at one of the Disney World
parks. Since Disney's Hollywood Studios was the only one we hadn't
visited since receiving our season passes we decided that would be
where we headed. Unfortunately, once again I did a horrible job of
keeping track of which rides and attractions we visited while we
were here today, so I will recap our day as best as I can. I do
know that one of our first rides was on Star Tours - The
Adventure Continues., which Drew and Jayden weren't overly
excited about when we got in line, but by the time we got off the
ride they were very happy they took the time to wait for it. Since
we were relatively close, we headed over to the Muppet«Vision 3D
attraction next, where we enjoyed the zany antics of Kermit, Miss
			Piggy, and their friends.
At this time we had to head clear across the park to use our
FastPasses for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The kids
were a little nervous about this one too (especially Drew), but they
both enjoyed it as well. Everything except the odor emanating from
one of our fellow ride guests (PU!), that is!
Our final stop for the day was to check out the newest area of
the park, Toy Story Land. I really enjoyed this park, as it is
designed as though we were shrunk down to the size of one of Andy's
toys from the Toy Story movies, and are now in his back yard. A
couple of my favorite highlights from Toy Story Land were Woody's
Lunch Box, which is a quick service restaurant that is a giant
Woody's Roundup metal lunch box (the kind we would have carried to
elementary school during our youth). One end is held up by the
thermos that would have came in the lunch box, and some of the items
in the lunchbox are animal crackers, Oreo cookies, and Babybel
cheese. Another of my favorites was the restroom building, which was
made out of Tinkertoy blocks. The sign was made up of Scrabble
letter tiles, and had a round Tinkertoy container on one end, as
well as a Cootie game and cereal box on the other end. There were
also cooties assembled and on display.
Around the entire Toy Story Land area are giant Tinkertoy
assemblies, as well as park benches that are made of half-stained
popsicle sticks, Lego style garbage and recycle containers, and many
more neat details, such as Andy's giant footsteps on the ground.
While we were in Toy Story Land, we decided to check out the new Alien Swirling Saucers
ride. While we enjoyed this, it is probably better suited to the
younger kids. We also had FastPasses for Toy Story Mania!,
which Tara and I had been on many years ago, but we still all
			enjoyed today.
By now it was pretty much time for us to leave so that we could
make it to Drew's game on time. We all wished we could have spent
more time here today, but regular life calls! Oh, and (once again) I will try to be better about tracking our activities
next time so that I can give a better recap! |
