September 7th, 2019

Today was a bit of an unusual trip, as it was just Erica and I, along with Marissa, Drew, and Jayden who made the trip. Our first stop of the day was at Animal Kingdom, with the intent of getting on the list for the Simba passholder magnets. While we were here, we made one attraction our destination - the Kilimanjaro Safaris ride, to get another look at the animals.

Of course, today would be the day I forgot my camera, so you'll have to make due with my camera pictures and their less than stellar zoom capabilities...

Animal Kingdom

A mountain bongo hiding in the bushes.

I couldn't seem to find out which kind of animal this is, but it seems to be a deer or something closely related...

A couple great white pelicans going for a swim.

Some more pelicans, this time enjoying the sun.

This is another species that I don't recall the name of, but I believe that they may be vultures.

Here is a Nile crocodile laying near the waters edge.

Below are a few of my favorite giraffe photos from the savannah...

In the background we were able to see some sable antelope resting.

We also got see some of the Ankole-Watusi cattle up close as they walked near the trail.

And here are a few more of the giraffes that we got to see...

A group of blue wildebeest laying in the shade.

A couple more giraffe photos...

We were also able to see an African elephant on our safari.

We was got to see a couple of groups of greater flamingos enjoying the water...

Here you can see a white rhinoceros laying in the shade...

We were also able to see ostrich on our safari...

After completing our journey on the safari at Animal Kingdom, it was time to head over to Hollywood Studios for some more thrilling rides, and to check out the new Galaxy's Edge.

Our first stop was at the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. We all rode, with the exception of Erica, who doesn't care for this particular ride. From there we walked across the street to the Rock 'N' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. We were able to ride this twice in a row, in quick fashion. Once again, Erica waited patiently while we enjoyed the thrills.

After our second roller coaster ride, we decided to leave Sunset Boulevard to head towards Toy Story Land for a quick spin on the Toy Story Mania! attraction.

Once we finished up on the Toy Story ride, we made our way to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to take in the sights of this new land. We wandered around, checking out as much as we could, before getting in line for the area's lone ride - Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. I think we were all pretty impressed with this new attraction, though Drew and I got the best seats in the house as the ships pilots. After we had completed our mission, we spent a little bit more time wandering through the area.

Apparently we didn't quite get our complete Star Wars fix, as we headed out to the old Star Tours - The Adventure Continues ride. Although this is an older ride, it is still quite fun.

Before we decided to call it a day, we headed back to Sunset Boulevard to re-ride a couple of thrill rides. We were able to take advantage of the relatively short lines to experience the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the Rock 'N' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith one more time each.
