March 15th, 2020

76/49°, Partly Cloudy

This morning we woke up and got ourselves ready to head to church with Jerry & Gail at the Victory Worship Center. After a louder and longer than expected service (where we got to listen to a worshipper behind us say “C’mon” and “Amen” a thousand times) we headed out for breakfast. We stopped at one of Jerry & Gail’s regular haunts, Cappy’s Breakfast Café, where we all ordered a filling breakfast.

After eating, we swung back by the house to change from our church clothes into something more appropriate for our next stop – the Coronado National Forest – Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. Here we took a short walk on one of the trails before boarding a bus to take us part way up Sabino Canyon. Due to some recent rains, we couldn’t take the bus as far as Jerry & Gail had originally planned. Despite that, we were able to see some beautiful sights along the trails that we did manage to walk, after crossing a bridge overran with water. We made it to a dam on the mountain before turning around to make our way back to the last bus of the day. Jayden and I decided that we wanted to return to make the 8+ mile hike to Seven Falls before we go back to Florida.

After taking the bus back to the front of the park, we headed home for the evening. After deciding what it was that we wanted to have for dinner, we made a pit stop at Fry’s for a few groceries, and were pleased to find that his store was a division of Kroger’s, and they sold Kroger chocolate milk and the sour cream donut holes that we loved so much back when we lived in Michigan.

With groceries in hand, we arrived at home and made tacos for dinner before settling in for the night.

The bottom set of photos are from Tara's phone... enjoy!
