Christmas at Home

Christmas morning has arrived, and once again the budget was a little tight (thanks in part to Crush's recent medical bills). Despite that, it did seem as though everyone was thankful for what Santa was able to place under our tree for them this year, along with some promises of gifts coming their way in the future. Jayden got most of her gifts today, but Drew can look forward to a new PS5 once they are in stock. Samantha also got her cell phone bill paid for her, saving her some money out of her own pocket. The COVID situation has made it much more difficult to get out and shop than in years past...

The kids did take turns wrapping each others gifts this year, which made for some interesting gift combinations, as well as some unique packaging combinations. That made for a fun morning of opening presents!

	Tara found the premise of her gifts amusing, as they were miscellaneous items left in the laundry room from earlier in the year.

	...which turned out to be Christmas pajamas (our normal Christmas Eve tradition that got put on hold as the kids wrapped them amongst the rest of the presents for today).

	Rodney was also pleased to get an Amazon gift card from Grandpa Jerry & Grandma Gail.

	...as it was a shoe! Yes, just one...
	Drew finally got a turn, and his gift turned out to be...
	...a new Grogu shirt...
	...and pajama pants.
	Jay's next present came in an iPhone box...
	...but turned out to be an old Motorola Mini phone from the garage instead.
	Jay also got..
	...a cushy new pair of slippers to wear.
	Jay got a new pair of pants to wear, as well.
	Sam finally got a turn to open a gift, and she had to cut the small one off of the larger two.
	Sam's first present appeared to be a Google Chromecast...
	...but it turned out to be a box of rocks instead!
	Jay got a new pajama shirt to wear.
	Drew's next present to unwrap...
	...turned out to be a little more challenging than anticipated...
	...as he had to work hard to cut the package open.
	In the meantime, Jay was able to unwrap the second of her pair of shoes.
	Sam was finally able to open the second gift in her stack...
	...and was happy to get some new pajama pants...
	...and a shirt to go with them.
	Drew moved on to the next part of his duct-tape gift, which came in a Nutter Butter box...
	...and then a BottleCaps box inside.
	Jay worked on her next present while Drew was busy unwrapping. This gift was a XXXXXX.
	She also unwrapped another small gift...
	...that turned out to be a XXXXXX.
	Drew was finally nearing the end of his gift unwrapping ordeal...
	...only to find a Patrick Starr Lego character at the end!
	Sam moved on to her big present...
	...and was less than thrilled to find one of our beach towels in it, along with...
	...another box that she had to open...
	...which also had - you guessed it...
	...another box to try to open.
	Drew went ahead with his next gift while Sam struggled with hers...
	...and as they traded tips on how to get through all the duct-tape.
	Drew was pleased to get some of the underwear that he likes.
	Sam wasn't too happy after finally breaking into the duct-tape box...
	...as it contained this message, which she wasn't going to follow at 10-something in the morning!
	This box contained a Smirnoff Ice...
	...and this Halloween head that was supposed to be the first thing she saw, but got jostled around as she struggled to open it.
	Elsewhere in the box was a new set of slippers...

	Jay was up next...
	...and she was very happy with her final gift...
	...which turned out to be...
	...a pair of Doc Martens.
	Drew was also happy with his last present...
