Back to the ice for the second game of the morning, and this
time Drew and his Riverview Ice Sharks teammates wasted no time in
getting things started. Just a little over two minutes into the game
and they jumped out to a 1-0 lead. Like the first game, the Sharks
dominated the puck possession game. Despite that, it took a while
for the puck to find the back of the net again. Thankfully the next
puck that found the back of the net came off of a Riverview stick,
despite the Gators goaltender's valiant effort. That made the score
2-0, and that would be the way the first period would end. The
second period seemed like a duplicate of the first, as Riverview
scored first - this time just 16 seconds in. They once again carried
the puck for the vast majority of the period, before finally getting
their second goal of the period late. Drew wound up with the games
fourth goal, and his fourth of the season as well, off a wrist shot
with just under four minutes left.
The third period followed the same pattern, though there would be
no quick Ice Sharks goal this time. Riverview would score, but this
periods first goal wouldn't come until just before the midway point,
giving them a 5-0 lead. The Sharks would add another goal not even
two minutes later, moving the score to 6-0. A third goal would come
less than two minutes later once again, this time it was Drew
deflecting in a shot. That would be the games final goal, giving
Riverview a 7-0 victory! |
