Jayden and her Riverview Lady Sharks varsity soccer teammates headed to Bloomingdale High School in Valrico for their first preseason game, as they would face off against the Armwood Hawks.

Jayden would find herself getting the start tonight, although at the unfamiliar position of forward. Despite not spending much time on offense over the past several years, I think that she represented herself well overall. Armwood would get on the scoreboard first, scoing on a shot ten minutes in on a near breakaway that the Hawks player kicked from the right side of the field into the left side of the net, slipping the ball just under the Sharks keeper. A short while later Jay would find herself with a prime scoring opportunity of her own, but she just barely got beaten to the ball by the Armwood goalkeeper as she tried to battle through the Hawks defenders. Jay would come out of the game at the first hydration break, but there would be no more scoring for either team while she was on the bench. The first half would come to a close with the score 1-0 in favor of the Hawks.

Jayden started the second half on the bench, and while she was watching her team gave up their second goal of the game, this one coming from a sideline throw-in that made its way towards the goal and was kicked in, making it a 2-0 Armwood lead. After playing a little over twenty minutes at forward in the first half, Jay would check in with nine minutes to play on the defensive end of the field this time. Thankfully her team held strong while she was on the field, and she made a couple of nice plays on that end of the field too. Unfortunately, despite getting the only shots on goal over the course of the games final nineteen minutes, the Sharks weren't able to net a goal of their own, and would fall by a 2-0 score when the final whistle blew.

Although not the outcome they would of liked as a team, it was a pretty good debut for Jayden on a personal level.
