Jayden and her Riverview Sharks teammates travelled all the way
to Lutz this evening to take on the Steinbrenner Warriors. This
game did not get off to a great start for the Sharks - their very
first offensive play ended up being intercepted. Certainly not the
beginning that they were looking for. The Warriors took advantage of
the short field, scoring a touchdown on their very first offensive
play. They were unsuccessful on their extra point attempt, making it
an early 6-0 deficit for the Lady Sharks. The two teams traded punts
after that, before Riverview finally got an interception of their
own, which ended a Steinbrenner drive. Riverview appeared to be on a
successful drive late in the half, only to see it end when they
couldn't convert on a fourth down attempt near the end zone. The
half would come to a close shortly after that.
Steinbrenner opened the second half with the ball, and they made
a steady march down the field that led to their second touchdown of
the game. Thankfully they didn't convert their extra point attempt,
leaving the score 12-0 in favor of the Warriors. The rest of the
half was dominated by defense, as three straight drives ended with
interceptions - one by the Sharks, and two by the Warriors. The
final Steinbrenner drive ended on downs, while the final Riverview
drive saw time run out on them. Once again, the Sharks found
themselves on the low end of the score, this time by a 12-0 margin. |
