Game 1

Jayden and her Riverview Lady Sharks officially kicked off their season with tonight's match against the Plant Panthers. The last time these two teams met up was in last season's playoffs, and despite the time between meetings the outcome was very much the same. Jayden got the start in tonight's contest, playing at midfield once again. The Panthers got on the board early in this one, on a shot that went under the Sharks net minders outstretched arms. Plant would add four more goals before the halftime whistle would blow, while the Sharks didn't muster a single shot on goal.

The second half was more of the same, with a single Plant player scoring 6 of their overall goals, primarily by "cherry picking" - she really did nothing except outrun the defense and get the ball thanks to her teammates. She was called for more offsides than goals scored, so this was clearly their game plan. Jay was on the bench to start the second half, and didn't even get a chance to check in before the 8-0 mercy rule went in effect.
