Friday, July 28th, 2023

Several months back Samantha bought herself, Tara, and Jayden tickets to the NF concert in Orlando for tonight. Tara booked a plane ticket to arrive at the Orlando International Airport this morning, and rather than driving over to pick her up, coming home for a few hours, and then leaving to drive back to the far side of Orlando, the two of us opted to make reservations for Walt Disney World instead. Tara chose to go to Disney's Hollywood Studios, as it had been quite some time since she had visited that park.

We arrived at the park around 11:30am and made our way down Hollywood Boulevard looking for something to do. We were both hungry, as neither of us had really eaten anything of substance all day, but it was too early for lunch, so we grabbed a popcorn refill at the popcorn cart hear Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards. With a snack in hand, we decided to wait in the line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, again because it had been a long time since Tara had been on this particular ride. As always, it was a truly enjoyable experience, and the first-time riders that were seated behind us made it even more so!

By the time we had made our way through the line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance it was nearly 2:00pm, and we had intended to park-hop over to Epcot for lunch, so we made our way to the front of the park. Our intention was to take the Disney Skyliner to Epcot, but once we exited the park we saw a sign for the Friendship Boats, which would take us to the Epcot International Gateway. Since this is something that we have never done before, we decided to give it a shot! Although it was a cool experience, it wasn't exactly a quick trip! There were several spots at resorts that we had to make before we finally got to Epcot. Maybe someday we'll get to explore some of the resorts too...

Once we departed the boat at Epcot and made our way back through security, we headed straight for our lunch destination, as we were both starving by this point of the day. We made a beeline for the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom. This is definitely one of my favorite meals in the parks, but Tara had never eaten here before. She ended up really enjoying it as well! We both had more than our share, that's for sure!

With our hunger finally taken care of, we set out trying to decide what to do next. We ended up heading over to the France pavilion to get in the queue for Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. This ride has come to be one of Tara's favorites, so it was worth the wait. While we were in France, we explored further in, finding a shop that we had never been to before - Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie (The Bakery and Pastry Halls), where we bought a baguette and a biscuit chocolat (a chocolate chip cookie) for our dessert.

We next made our way around the world, headed towards Mexico in search of La Cava del Tequila (The Tequila Cellar). We found the nice little bar inside of the Mexico pavilion, and patiently waited in line to get in. Once our turn came up, we headed to the bar to order The Wild One  for Tara. This drink consisted of Teremana blanco tequila, mango-passion fruit purée, Ancho Verde chile liqueur, lime juice, applejack and ginger cordial, and a black ant salt rim. Tara was very impressed!

It was getting late enough in the day that we needed to make our way to the car so that we could head off to the concert. Although the wind was picking up for what seemed like a storm moving in, we managed to get on the Disney Skyliner for the return trip to Disney's Hollwood Studios. The trip wasn't without peril, however, as Tara was sure that we were going to ram into the car in front of us each time we came into a station!

We finally made it back to the car, and headed off to see NF later tonight following another enjoyable day in the parks!
