Jayden took to the field at the Summerfield Soccer Complex one
last time for a regular season game with the Tampa Dynamo FC, facing
off against the team from North Port Fusion FC. The first half did
not get off to a great start for the Dynamo girls, as they had
trouble maintaining any offensive attack. In fact, they were unable
to even get a single shot on net in the opening 45 minutes. North
Port only managed seven themselves, six of them coming before the
water break. Unfortunately for the Dynamo, two of those shots were
converted into goals. The first score came when the offensive Fusion
player drove through the Dynamo D before firing off a pass, then a
second North Port pass led to a wide open shot that resulted in an
easy shot behind the Tampa keeper, making it a 1-0 game just fifteen
minutes in. Four minutes later and the Dynamo team was unable to
clear the ball from the offensive zone (a common issue today),
resulting in another shot that went back across the net in and in,
making it a 2-0 score. North Port would manage just a single shot on
net after the water break, though they weren't able to convert,
keeping the score 2-0 heading into halftime.
The second half was all North Port, as they dominated the action.
Tampa was unable to secure any first touches on the ball, and their
"passes" consistently went to nobody but the opposition. More often
than not, they weren't making passes but rather just kicking the
ball away with no plan in mind of what they were trying to
accomplish. This led to failed clears, such as the one that led to
the first Fusion goal of the second half, on a shot that deflected
in off of the diving Dynamo keepers hands, making the score 3-0 nine
minutes into the half. Just two minutes later a Fusion player made
their way in all alone, making an easy kick for a 4-0 score. A mere
three minutes later the Fusion attacker easily weaved through the
Dynamo defense, making it to the box all alone, and kicking an easy
score in past the Tampa goalkeeper, who despite being fresh into the
game gave minimal effort on the save attempt. The final goal, making
it a 6-0 game, was similar to the previous one, as they easily drove
through the Dynamo defense, switched to her left foot, and fired a
shot up and over the Tampa keeper. That would be the final goal of
the game, ending the winless Dynamo season. |
