Sunday, March 2nd, 2025

After Drew and I spent the morning at Disney's Animal Kingdom, we decided to move on to Disney's Hollywood Studios after lunch to spend the rest of our day there. After arriving at the park, we began to make our trek to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

We ended up making a couple of pit stops along the way, the first of which was at Star Tours - The Adventure Continues. We ended up getting a strange mission that seemed to combine scenes from several other missions. Although this one was a little odd to me, I still thoroughly enjoy this ride. In fact, I need to make it a point to get on more often as the wait times are usually low!

Our next stop along the way was to see the Muppet«Vision 3D show. With the announcement that this show would be closing soon, Drew and I decided that we wanted to take the opportunity to see it one last time, at least for him - perhaps I'll get another chance before the June 7th closing date. I really hate that this show is going away - I'd rather they would have update the actual video of the show as opposed to closing it and moving the Muppets over to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, which just doesn't seem like an ideal ride for a show geared to kids. I am looking forward to the new Monsters, Inc. ride though!

We finally made it to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and got in line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. We enjoyed the preshow, including our mission from Rey and BB-8, our ride on the CEC Intersystem Transport with Lieutenant Bek, and our capture and boarding in the First Order Star Destroyer hangar bay. There was quite a crowd in the hangar bay when we arrived, and several transports arrived behind us as well. After a short while the cast members asked us to get our magic bands or passes ready and began escorting us out, as the ride had been shut down temporarily. We received a Lightning Lane pass to return or use elsewhere, and were shuttled out through an employee hallway (we even got to see an employee break room on our way out). Although we were disappointed to have stood in line to get so close to the boarding point, we understand that things happen sometimes.

Once we were back in Batuu, we decided to find a place to sit and relax for a bit while enjoying a snack. We found a table near the Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, where we got to see Rey and Chewbacca, as well as some Stormtroopers and an Imperial Officer while we were eating. Add in that we saw Din Djarin, the Mandalorian, and Grogu earlier, and this is likely the most characters I've ever seen during my visits to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge!

We decided to head across the park to take in a showing of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! show. We enjoyed the show immensely, despite the "technical difficulties" that prevented the middle building to be present during the second act. The actors were obviously prepared for this instance, and the show barely skipped a beat!

We headed back to use our Lightning Lane pass on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, this time arriving at a completely empty hangar bay. We made it onto the ride and had a great time, enjoying every scene as it unfolded in front of us. We were thankful to finally make it through after our long wait during our first attempt!

We headed over to the nearby Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. We made our way through the queue without incident, and were selected to be engineers during our time on the famous Millennium Falcon ship. We managed to snag two loads of coaxium in the process!

We headed through Toy Story Land next, before finding a spot to sit and eat the dinner that we packed today, near the former theater for the Little Mermaid show in the Animation Courtyard.

After dinner we headed down Sunset Boulevard to take a ride on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Although I do love this ride, man is it a rough one! When compared to rides like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which is as smooth as can be. I just can't imagine this ride's next version being Muppets related.

Our timing from when we got off of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith allowed us to head right across Sunset Boulevard to take in the Fantasmic! show.
