    By 3:30pm it was time for us to head back to Sault Ste. Marie to try and see 
the freighters go through the locks. We passed the time by watching movies in 
the van.

    We lucked out with our timing to the locks. We arrived just as the largest 
ship on the great lakes, the Paul R. Tregurtha, was coming in. This ship is over 
1,000' long, and took forever to make it's way out of the lock. In fact another 
600+ footer came into the other lock, was raised to position, and exited the 
lock before the Tregurtha made it's way out. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the 
freighters up close.
