A few more pictures of our trek on the sand hill...

Dune Climb

On our walk back to the bottom of the hill, Donovan, Samantha, Tyler, and Marissa climbed up on the edge of his ledge to pose for a picture.

The rarest of all photographs known to man - a smiling Jayden!

Once we made it to the bottom of the dune climb we started to load up all of our stuff to head to the... "uh, oh... wait a minute... where is my camera?" Those famous words were uttered by Tara just as we were preparing to leave. She had an idea of where it might be - at the area where we rested before turning around to come back. I wasn't 100% sold on whether it was worth it to go back and look, but Tara had that look of dread in her eyes, so I figured I better give it a shot. Dad ended up joining me for the walk back, and after a 20 minute trek we actually managed to find it - right where she thought it would be. After that it was another 20 minute trek back to the bottom. I figured I should take some pictures as proof of our second walk of the day on the dunes.

Dune Climb, Take II

A look at the dunes from where we picked up the camera at our resting point.

Dad didn't look too much worse for wear after making his second trip through the sand.

A self portrait of Rodney on the dunes.

Some of the hills that we walked through to make it as far as we did on the sand dunes.

Back at the bottom of the hill with all of our possessions in hand, we climbed back into our vehicles to go on the Stocking Scenic Drive to see more sights.

Stocking Scenic Drive

The covered bridge that we drive through on our way through the park.

A look through the trees at Glen Lake at the first scenic turnout.

Another look at Glen Lake.

This is the road that we take to get to the dune climb. Fortunately we turn before attempting to cross this part of the bridge!

A look back at the dune climb parking lot from the scenic drive.

The, uh, uh, "Boob Dunes," with one headlight on.

The plaque describing the creation of the Stocking Scenic Drive.

Use your imagination here and you can see the legendary 'Sleeping Bear'. The bear's belly is pretty much centered in the picture and the head is the smaller hill to the right.

We had to stop traffic on the scenic drive to take a picture of this gnarly tree.

Jayden, Samantha, Drew, and Tyler standing near the warning sign at the bluff.

A look down the bluff with what appears to be a little boat at the bottom.

A look down the bluff from the viewing platform. From this view you can see the row of people going up and down the bluff.
