Drew's third baseball game went off without a hitch on
Wednesday, May 12th. Aside from the cool temperatures, we really lucked out in
avoiding the rain that had passed through the area. The temps did end up playing
a role in the game, however, as the opposing team opted not to bother taking
their last at-bats. This was surprising to a lot of parents because the wind had
died down by then and it didn't feel too bad out, especially for the players who
were running around.
Drew played first base and the outfield today, and managed
to get a hit and get on base each time he batted. He wasn't able to tag any
runners out at first, but he does do a nice job throwing the ball back to home
plate - the throws are generally straight and are in the air for the majority of
the distance (which is more than most kids can say). The best part is that he is
enjoying himself and developing a love for the game, so no matter what happens I
am happy for him.
