Because the kids were asleep when we pulled in to the campground, they had assumed that we were in Sarasota when they woke up. Since we had planned to spend the day shopping at Downtown Disney, we had to let them in on the secret that they were in fact in Kissimmee. We told them by letting them open up one of their Christmas gifts early - it was a Disney Christmas ornament with a note that read: "You Christmas gift from Grandma and Grandpa will be 2 days at Disney World." Unfortunately, they didn't get as excited as we had hoped. In fact, they seemed more upset with us for not telling them that they weren't at Sun-N-Fun! Go figure!

Tara & I also took advantage of the opportunity to give each of the kids a $25 Disney gift card that we had bought. We told them that they could use this money to purchase any type of souvenir that they desired while we were shopping at Downtown Disney or in the parks. Now they began to understand why we didn't take any money out of their accounts for Florida souvenirs...

Early Christmas Presents

Tara is watching Tyler, Drew, Samantha, and Jayden open an early Christmas present from their Grandpa & Grandma.

Each of the kids got a Disney Christmas ornament with a note attached indicating that they would be getting to spend two days at Walt Disney World compliments of their grandparents.

Another look at the kids and their ornaments - this time with a more serious look from Tyler and an actual look from Jayden.

The note each of the kids received attached to their new Christmas ornaments.

We spent most of the day shopping at Downtown Disney without actually buying anything. That's good, right? We did come up with a few ideas for souvenirs, but almost all of us decided that we wanted to see what was available in the park before purchasing anything. Samantha was the lone exception, using some of the money on her gift card to but a charm bracelet at one of the many stores we shopped in today.

...and the Lego shark!

Here is a Lego fish that is beside the shark.

The giant Lego dragon in the water. (Didn't this dragon used to blow puffs of smoke? It didn't during our visit.)

A Lego dinosaur.

There were several dioramas of a variety of famous cities on display on the outside wall of the Lego store. Here you can see Paris.

This one is Moscow.

Sydney, Australia.

London, England.

New York City. USA! USA!

Tokyo. Or someplace in Japan.

Tinkerbell! (Ours, not Disney's)
