After eating our "big breakfast" this morning, we headed into town to stake out our spot for the Deckerville Homecoming Parade. We ended up back on the corner where the old IGA store was (it is still a grocery store, just no longer an IGA), a spot we have had for the last several years. We got to see several people we know in the parade, and a lot of farm equipment as well (treads seem to be all the rage this year). Of course the kids got way too much candy, although by the end they were passing up the Tootsie Rolls! All in all it was a good time!

Deckerville Homecoming Parade

Tara standing watch as Samantha, Tyler, Drew, and Jayden enjoy a small cup of ice cream from the church across the street.

Some of Deckerville's finest veterans walking in the parade...

...including Uncle David, who was all smiles.

Steve waving at the mounted sheriff's... or is he waving at the horses?

Treads - on a Yamaha Rhino side by side.

Drew waiting for candy as a fire truck passes by.

Aunt Karen (in the visor) passing out candy for the bank she works for.

The traveling Ferris wheel...

...and merry-go-round.

This cool two wheeled contraption...

...rolled and spun it's way down the parade route.

It used to be an old Oliver Superior Grain Drill (slightly modified now...). Cool!

This John Deere tractor (with treads) could probably plow some driveways in the winter time!

The Dubie Groomer... think that is for farming hemp?

A look at some of our group watching the parade pass by.

A Kubota side by side... with treads!

A Claas combine, not only with treads - but also with teeth!

A closer look at the Claas combine.

Another John Deere tractor, once again with treads.

Wheels! On a New Holland tractor.

More wheels! This time on a New Holland combine (apparently they weren't notified of this newfound love affair with treads on farm equipment).

Treads! On a Jeep, no less!
