We woke up early in the morning to make the drive into Atlanta to visit the Georgia Aquarium. The aquarium houses more than 100,000 animals, representing 500 species, in 10 million gallons of marine and fresh water. It was the world's largest aquarium when it opened in 2005. Among the aquarium's notable specimens are four young whale sharks, four beluga whales, eleven bottlenose dolphins, and four manta rays. The aquarium is the only institution outside of Asia housing whale sharks and is one of only four sites in the world displaying Manta Ray's. We had a great time during our visit. When we arrived there wasn't much of a crowd, but when we left there was a giant line waiting to get in. Although it was crowded inside the aquarium, we had no problem getting close to the exhibits and taking advantage of the opportunities to touch the animals (when allowed, of course). The first set of pictures were ones that I took, while the second set came through the lens of Tyler's camera. Unfortunately for him I still had the camera set for their indoor sports, so some of his pictures didn't turn out quite as well as they could have otherwise, but all in all he did a great job.
