Game 8

After suffering their second defeat of the season in yesterday's game, Samantha and her Michigan Impact teammates were looking to get back on the winning track in today's game against the Force team. Samantha got the nod as the starting goalkeeper today, and she saw very little action while in net. She only had to make a couple of saves, on shots that rolled to her, as her teammates dominated the play through the majority of the first half. They managed to convert on an early scoring opportunity, grabbing a 1-0 lead early in the game. Sam moved to the field for the second half as two of her teammates split time in goal. Over the course of the game the Impact girls had plenty of scoring opportunities, but they just couldn't manage to get the shot that they needed to find the back of the net. Sam gave it a shot, as she launched a long shot that appeared as though it was going to find it's way into the back of the net, but somehow the keeper managed to pin the ball between her legs as she was down on her knees. While they dominated the ball for the vast majority of the game, the 1-0 score was enough to hold up for the Impact to secure their 6th win of the season.
