There was some schedule changes to this tournament that
resulted in a bit a jumble of the game layout, and what was originally scheduled
to be the third game of the tournament for the Venice Falcons against a new team
wound up being a semi-final game rematch against the Oldsmar team. Their
previous matchup was a 0-0 draw, and this game was expected to be another close,
low scoring affair. All the Falcons needed today was a victory or another draw
to find themselves in the Championship game tomorrow. For some reason, however,
it didn't really seem as though the girls wanted to play again, as they
struggled mightily today. In fact, they had their worst game in recent memory,
as they gave up three goals while failing to find the back of the net
themselves. Samantha spent the majority of the game in the field, but with her
team already trailing 3-0 and the starting keeper injured, she moved to goal to
close out the game. The loss closed out the books on the 2015-16 U16 Venice
Falcons season. Now we see what next year will bring...
