Since our last trip to Mackinac Island was primarily dedicated to riding bikes, we planned for a second trip to complete the other activities on our agenda. On the schedule today was a carriage tour and a trip to Fort Mackinac, in addition to wandering through the shops to allow Samantha the opportunity to purchase some souvenirs for her siblings and parents, just like Tyler did on his class trip. Before we could partake in the activities, we needed to get to the island. Our ride over this morning was incredibly foggy, and that provided me with some opportunities to take some pictures...

Boat Ride to Mackinac Island

A look at the line of people waiting to get on the boat this morning.

Our boat to the island coming into the dock from an early morning run.

A look back at the people in line after we had already boarded the boat.

Grandpa Gary, Grandma Terry, Samantha, Tyler, Jayden, Drew, and Tara sitting in the front row on the first level of the boat.

A look up at the boat from the front.

A couple parasailing in the hazy sky.

This is the boat that we took on our sunset cruise last night, the Star Line Radisson.

The Mackinac Bridge, barely visible through the fog.

A sailboat drifting in the lake.

Jayden standing at the front of the boat, taking in the scenery.

Sam, Jay, and Tyler talking while standing at the front of the boat.

Sam and Jay together.

Looking straight ahead, only a lone bird can be seen.

Making our way to the island... hopefully.

Drew, being goofy, holding his glasses to his face.

Tara holding Jay, who is making googly eyes.

Drew and Jay wearing their "glasses" as Tara quietly chuckles at them.

Drew's googly eyes.

Slowly the island emerges through the fog...

The two lighthouses emerging from the fog.
